After Graduating from Penta-County Vocational High School in 1982 in the carpentry field, Jay started his career in the building business by working for a custom home builder. He had various duties in all aspects of home construction. He advanced in the field by getting more involved in the rough structure of homes.

Jay is married and has two children, they reside in South Toledo.  He and his family are very active with their school and church. Kid’s sports take a large amount of time, from the coaching standpoint and playing. Jay is an avid out doorsman and tries to encourage his son and daughter in both fishing and hunting activities. He is very involved in Boy scouting and encompasses his passion for the outdoors into the Scout Troop he and his son are involved with.
